Bears Need Victory Against Browns

Well it was very disappointing to watch the Bears fall to both the Falcons and Bengals after starting the season with a 3-1 record. The loss dropped the Bears to .500 at 3-3 and in third place in their division trailing the Packers by a game and the Vikings by 2.5 games. Needless to say the Bears need to turn things around if they expect to make the playoffs this year.

This week, the Cleveland Browns pay a visit to Soldier Field which is exactly what the Bears need. The Browns are a woeful 1-6 and their quarterback Derrick Anderson ranks last in the league with a passer rating a shade of over 40. In theory, the Bears should be able a generate a decent pass rush against the Browns, something they have been unsuccessful with the last 2 weeks. In doing so, it may take some pressure off the secondary as this unit has been inconsistent at best so far in the season. The defense accumulated 14 sacks through the first four games and have gone without one against both Atlanta and Cincinnati. This should also be the week they are able to have a balanced attack as the Browns defense is far from elite.

If the Bears are going to turn things around, it has to start with this game against the Browns. One of marks of a good team is being able to beat the teams you're supposed to beat. If the Bears drop this game, it would very difficult to see them making the playoffs at 3-4. Simply put, the Bears need this win and they need to win convincingly.
